SAT阅读中常见的修辞手法有哪些？

  我们平时在表达的时候难免会运用一些修辞手法，在阅读中自然也是经常遇到。SAT阅读文章同样如此，经常会出现一些和修辞相关的表达和题目，这就需要备考的同学们要对这些常见的修辞手法有一定的了解，那么SAT阅读中常见的修辞手法有哪些？

一、常见的表达方式

  首先，所谓的“修辞手法”在英文中的表达方式有以下几种，一定要认识它们哦：

1、Literary device

2、Rhetorical device

3、Figures of speech

二、常见的提问方式

  修辞类的题型，提问的方式会有一些变化，常见的是以下几种：

1、直来直往型

  题目中可能会出现以上这些词中的某一个，例：In the second paragraph，the narrator uses which of the following literary devices？

2、大大咧咧型

  题目中会用其他一些较为宽泛的表达来提问，例：The author uses which of the following methods to ···

3、指哪打哪型

  出题者也可以直接问你某句话是什么性质来考察我们对于修辞手法的理解，例：The last sentence of the last paragraph can be described as ···

三、常见的修辞手法

  然后，我们的选项中就会出现一些修辞功能词和/或其服务于的对象。那么常见的修辞手法到底有哪些呢，让我们一起往下看。

1、Metaphor暗喻

  A metaphor is a figure of speech that says that one thing is another different thing.

  “All the world's a stage,And all the men and women merely players They have their exits and their entrances”-William Shakespeare

2、Simile明喻

  A simile is a figure of speech that says that one thing is like another different thing.

  “It's been a hard day's night,and I've been working like a dog”-The Beatles

  这两者的差别主要在于是否有喻词:暗喻中A is B，明瑜中A is like B。

3、Personification 拟人

A personification is an attribution of human nature or characters to animals, inanimate objects or abstract notions.

“How soon hath time, the subtle thief of youth,Stolen on his wing my three and twenty year”-Milton

4、Hyperbole 夸张

Hyperbole is a figure of speech that uses an exaggerated or extravagant statement to create a strong emotional response.

“Give me a thousand kisses, then a hundred,Then another thousand, then a second hundred,Then still another thousand, then a hundred”-Catullus

通常情况下，此种修辞手法是为了显得幽默，更日常的例子如下：

I will die if she asks me to dance.

I'm so hungry I could eat an elephant.

He's got tons of money.
