新SAT美国首考开始，SAT的词汇要如何复习呢?掌握一定的词汇量是新SAT考试所有科目的基础。

　　In practical terms, people spend hundreds of dollars each year on gifts, but somehow never learn to calibrate their gift expenditures according to personal insight.

　　译文：在实际生活中，人们每年在礼物上花费数百美元，但不知为何从来不去学习如何根据个人洞察力来调整他们的礼物开销。

　　其中，calibrate(v. 校准，调整)，expenditure(n. 支出)属于需要学习的词汇，如果不熟悉可能会影响理解。显然这种陈述句也是容易设问的地方。

　　又如：

　　Space miners, like their earthly counterparts, are often reluctant to engage with such questions. One speaker at last week’s space-mining forum in Sydney, Australia, concluded with a plea that regulation should be avoided. But miners have much to gain from a broad agreement on the for-profit exploitation of space. Without consensus, claims will bedisputed, investments risky, and the gains made insecure. It is in all of our long-term interests to seek one out.

　　上文讲述了太空矿工的一些相关的概念。SAT生词有counterpart，reluctant，consensus(n. 一致意见)，disputed(adj. 受争议的)。倘若不知道这些词的意思，则可能对整段话以及各种意见的理解出现偏差。
